Job summary

Porter and Chester Institute, a trade school serving Connecticut and Massachusetts, seeks an HVAC Instructor - Part Time to bring real-world HVAC experience into the classroom and lab in Springfield, MA. No teaching degree required; we provide curriculum and support to help you teach the trade you know well.

You will train the next generation of HVAC professionals while maintaining hands-on involvement, mentoring students, preparing them for licensing, and participating in ongoing professional

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Oil Burner License or Refrigeration License (or willing to obtain in 90 days)
• EPA Universal Certification (preferred)
• At least 3 years of hands-on HVAC experience
• Ability to work independently and manage your day
• Strong communication and organization skills

Responsibilities

• Teach hands-on HVAC skills using real equipment and real scenarios
• Share jobsite knowledge, troubleshooting tips, and best practices
• Mentor students at different skill levels — from beginners to advanced learners
• Prepare students for licensing, certification, and real-world success
• Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development
• Work independently while being supported by an experienced education team
