Job summary

Porter and Chester Institute in Waterbury, CT is seeking an HVAC professional to join us as an HVAC Instructor. This full-time role brings real-world trades into the classroom, using actual equipment and live scenarios to prepare students for licensing and certification.

You will teach hands-on HVAC skills, share jobsite knowledge, mentor learners at different levels, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• S1 or S2 licensing required or (B1 and D1) or (B2 and D2).
• At least 3 years of hands-on HVAC experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage your day.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach hands-on HVAC skills using real equipment and real scenarios.
• Share jobsite knowledge, troubleshooting tips, and best practices.
• Mentor students at different skill levels — from beginners to advanced learners.
• Prepare students for licensing, certification, and real-world success.
• Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development.
• Work independently while being supported by an experienced education team.
