Job summary

United Mechanical is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial HVAC and/or Plumbing construction from planning through completion. You will work with Project Managers and Executives to coordinate activities, track progress, and resolve challenges.

You will coordinate schedules with field leaders, review costs, manage submittals, and connect teams to ensure quality and profitability while maintaining client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction management software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Execution: assist Project Managers and Executives with planning, coordination, and execution to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate Project Schedules: develop and maintain assigned project schedules with the General Superintendent and Project Foreman.
• Track Costs & Progress: review planned vs actual costs and schedules and coordinate timely corrective action.
• Manage Submittals: prepare submittals, track approvals, and support timely project execution.
• Connect Project Teams: coordinate with construction, engineering, and estimating to ensure requirements are understood before construction begins.
• Support Preconstruction & Client Relations: assist with estimating, bidding, pricing, project negotiations, and customer communication.
