Job summary
LONG Building Technologies is seeking a PLC/SCADA Controls Technician to troubleshoot and program HVAC-focused control systems across industries. You will install, maintain, and service systems, with emphasis on meeting project specifications and commissioning requirements.
The role requires strong PLC/SCADA proficiency, HVAC knowledge, and excellent communication to educate users and coordinate with customers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of computer/electronic tech degree and 1 year PLC/SCADA startup or 3–5 years startup experience.
- Extensive PLC/SCADA knowledge, building automation, energy management, and installation procedures.
- Proficient programming and troubleshooting skills with PLC/SCADA systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Program PLC/SCADA systems to meet sequences and manufacturer recommendations.
- Configure, checkout and startup control systems per specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance and system optimizations.
- Troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
- Communicate with customers to answer inquiries and provide guidance.
- Educate users on operation and maintenance of PLC/SCADA systems.
- Update drawings and as-built records; report issues to supervisor.
- Identify additional service opportunities and support sales efforts.
