Job summary

Genentech in Holly Springs, NC seeks a Principal Plant Engineer to serve as the site’s top technical SME for HVAC/R systems and plant utilities. You will guide end-to-end asset management, including design, testing, and start-up activities for a new Drug Product Fill & Finish facility with cGMP emphasis.

During pre-start, you’ll collaborate across Engineering, MSAT, Quality and Regulatory teams to establish asset management, testing and validation approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or life sciences; 8+ years in pharma with cGMP experience.
• Associate’s degree in engineering or life sciences; 10+ years in pharma with cGMP experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R, utilities, and plant automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site HVAC/R program as technical SME.
• Oversee maintenance contracting, troubleshooting, CAPA ownership, and regulatory alignment.
• Develop reliability programs for HVAC/R equipment and site infrastructure.
• Provide training and coaching to project teams and staff.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and ensure audit readiness.
