Job summary

JAB Construction Services LLC in Utah is seeking an experienced residential HVAC installer to lay out and hang ductwork, install air handlers, furnaces, and connect electrical and refrigerant lines before walls are closed. You will work closely with other builders, read floor plans, route ductwork, install gas lines and run refrigerant lines, while adhering to IRC and IMC codes.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of residential HVAC field experience; knowledge of residential construction processes is highly preferred.
  • Must have RMGA and EPA or willing to get in the first 6 months.
  • Familiarity with residential building codes (IRC/IMC) and Manual J/S/D calculations.
  • Ability to navigate unfinished residential structures, lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in tight crawlspaces, and hot/unfinished attics.

  • Gas Line Connection: Cut, thread, and run gas piping, testing for gas leaks.
  • Zoning System Setup: Install dampers and multi-zone control boards.

Job description

The new construction HVAC installer lays out and hangs ductwork, sets up air handlers and furnaces, and connects electrical and refrigerant lines before walls are closed. This role requires close teamwork with other builders and strict adherence to local building codes.


Responsibilities


  • Residential Framing Routing: Read floor plans to route flexible and rigid ductwork through wood framing without compromising structural studs.

  • Rough-In Assembly: Install boots, registers, return air boxes, and dryer/exhaust vents according to the home's layout.

  • Residential Equipment Setup: Mount and secure gas furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, and outdoor AC condenser units.

  • Line Installation: Run copper refrigerant linesets, PVC condensate drains, and low-voltage thermostat wiring from the equipment to the living spaces.

  • Gas Line Connection: Cut, thread, and run black iron or flexible gas piping to furnaces and water heaters, testing for gas leaks.

  • Zoning System Setup: Install dampers and multi-zone control boards to manage temperatures across different floors of the house.

  • Manages other employees


Qualifications


  • Experience: 2+ years of residential HVAC field experience; knowledge of residential construction processes is highly preferred.

  • Certifications: Must have RMGA and EPA or willing to get in the first 6 months.

  • Residential Code Knowledge: Familiarity with residential building codes (such as IRC and IMC) and Manual J/S/D calculations.
