Job summary

Construction Association of Michigan is seeking an HVAC Inspector to perform on-site inspections across township locations to ensure compliance with state and local HVAC/mechanical codes for new construction, additions and alterations. You will work under the Building Director and Building Official and assist contractors and the public with code information.

The ideal candidate holds Act 407 Certification, has four years of licensed HVAC/mechanical experience, and demonstrates solid building

Qualifications

• High school diploma with coursework in building construction and basic computer skills.
• Four years of experience as a licensed HVAC/mechanical contractor in the HVAC/mechanical trades.
• Act 407 Certification (HVAC Inspector/Plan Reviewer) required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections at various locations to ensure compliance with state and local HVAC/mechanical codes for new construction, additions and alterations.

Job description

Under the direction of the Building Director and the immediate supervision of the Building Official, conducts on-site inspections at various locations throughout the Township to ensure full compliance with state and local HVAC/mechanical codes for new construction, additions and alterations, with plans approved by the Building Department. Assist contractors and the general public with information regarding construction and HVAC/mechanical code related matters.

Basic Qualifications.

• Education – high school graduation and additional coursework in building construction and general computer skills.
• Experience - four years experience as an active licensed HVAC/mechanical contractor's license in the HVAC/mechanical trades.
• Special Qualifications – Act 407 Certification [HVAC Inspector / Plan Reviewer] REQUIRED
