Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design in Pennsylvania. You will perform heating and cooling load calculations, size ductwork and piping, select equipment, and conduct energy modeling as part of a collaborative engineering team.

You will interact with clients, contribute to engineering calculations, and support diverse building types from high-rise and life sciences to education and transportation projects.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in mechanical HVAC design.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field from a 4-year program.
• EIT or PE accreditation is a plus.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong technical writing and client interface abilities.
• Proficient knowledge of applicable codes.
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
• Ability to take direction and work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Senior Mechanical Engineers and the Department Manager.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• Size ductwork and piping.
• Select HVAC equipment.
• Perform energy modeling.
• Perform other engineering calculations.
• Support innovative building-systems designs across High Rise, Mission Critical, Multi-Unit Housing, Commercial Office, Higher Education, Transportation, Adaptive Reuse, and Life Science facilities.
