Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and federal projects. You will prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet codes and project schedules.

The role requires 1–5 years of experience, a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and local building codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for healthcare, science & technology, education, and commercial projects.
• Perform Load/Energy calculations with software such as Trace 700, Carrier HAP, and similar programs.
• Work with senior engineer to conduct building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems.
• Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings.
• Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies.
• Code compliance research.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Provide construction administration services.

Travel: Some travel to US sites.

The expected base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
