Job summary

Konik is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the development of HVAC and building systems for commercial projects in Maple Grove, Minnesota. You will create construction documents and coordinate with consultants and project teams to deliver efficient, code-compliant designs.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of mechanical design experience, strong Revit and CAD skills, and a collaborative mindset to help advance energy-efficient building solutions while supporting project delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years in mechanical design, HVAC, or building systems.
• Experience creating construction documents and interpreting blueprints.
• Proficiency with Revit, CAD, and other design software.
• Strong understanding of MEP building systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical system designs and construction documents that support efficient, cost-effective building solutions.
• Create HVAC layouts, drawings, and design documentation using Revit, CAD, and related design tools.
• Size equipment and mechanical systems to optimize energy efficiency, performance, and constructability.
• Collaborate with design consultants, construction managers, and project teams to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and support accurate system design.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to ensure compliance and quality.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and recommend practical solutions.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and overall design planning.
• Assist project managers by tracking scope changes and identifying potential impacts.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and project partners throughout the design process.
