Job summary

RTX in Woburn, MA is seeking an HVAC/R Maintenance Technician for the 1st shift (6:00am – 2:30pm). Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, this role involves reading wiring diagrams and maintaining HVAC/R systems across the facility.

Responsibilities include burner maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and ensuring climate control aligns with production needs. Candidates should have a MA refrigeration license and EPA #608 certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET) or two years of trade school experience.
• Trade school experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Good computer skills are required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and read/write safety procedures.
• Works well with others and is reliable.

Responsibilities

• Work from wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, sketches, operating manuals and verbal direction.
• Maintain, repair, and adjust oil/gas burners; annually clean heating boiler combustion chambers and flues.
• Diagnose and correct HVAC/R equipment malfunctions, including DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Maintain, repair, or replace compressors, pumps, motors, belts, pulleys, shives, bearings as required.
• Regulate and maintain climate control and manufacturing process needs of the facility.
• Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment.
• Calculate heating/cooling load and provide data for modifications.
• Retrieve materials and stock for assigned work.
• Maintain records, move materials, and follow safety rules.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Available to travel and have reliable transportation for alternate center assignments.
• Ability to communicate effectively and read/write safety procedures.
• Trade school experience.
