Tufts University in Grafton, MA is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to diagnose, maintain, install and repair HVAC and related equipment to keep campus facilities running efficiently.

The role requires 7+ years of experience including 4+ years as a licensed HVAC technician, with a pay rate of $49.18/hour, a Monday–Friday schedule, on-site work, and a comprehensive benefits package. This is an essential on-site position with Tufts' facilities team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience including 4 years as licensed HVAC technician.
• Must read blueprints and perform minor plumbing/electrical work.
• Experience with CMMS and BAS/Maximo systems preferred.
• Clean CORI/SORI background and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, install, and repair HVAC, heating, and filtering equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, and service chillers, package systems, and split systems.
• Be available for emergency repairs and after-hours coverage.
• Follow SOPs, safety norms, and meet deadlines for efficiency.
• Maintain asset preventive maintenance and CMMS records.
• Prepare parts and tools daily; work essential per policy.
