Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Level 2 HVAC Mechanic for their Melbourne, FL site to support the Aerospace Structures team. The role is on-site, on a 9/80 schedule, first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with responsibilities spanning installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.

Required are a high school diploma, 2 years HVAC experience, EPA license, and ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance; travel not emphasized. The salary range is provided in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of HVAC experience in industrial/large commercial setting.
• Must obtain and maintain a final adjudicated Top-Secret U.S. Government security clearance.
• Must possess a Universal EPA License
• Valid Florida driver's license allowing operation of large box truck (10,001–26,000 lbs)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, reach overhead, bend, and work in extreme temperatures
• Occasional off-shift and weekend availability; may flex to second shift

Responsibilities

• Installs, services, modifies, rebuilds, and repairs air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment in accordance with codes and safety regulations
• Performs inspections to locate causes of equipment malfunctions
• Maintains programs to prevent failure of equipment such as compressors, units, fans, heat pumps, VAVs, air handlers, CRACs, pumps
• Diagnoses malfunctions and performs appropriate HVAC repairs
• Charges refrigerant and tests for leaks
• Fabricates, assembles, installs ductwork; overhauls equipment
• Receives and executes work orders via CMMS for accurate records
• Occasionally assists other trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• All other duties as assigned
