Job summary

City of Little Rock is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to repair and maintain air conditioning, heating, refrigeration systems and pneumatic equipment across city buildings and facilities. This role requires hands-on technical work and adherence to safety standards.

Candidates should have formal HVAC training and at least four years of experience, plus one year of PC experience; equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Job description

JOB OBJECTIVE:

To repair and maintain air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems and pneumatic equipment at City of Little Rock buildings and facilities.

This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of a vocational-technical school course in heating and air conditioning systems, four (4) years of experience as a HVAC Mechanic; one (1) year of personal computer experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.


• Must be available to respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.


• Must obtain an Arkansas Class B HVAC license within (2) years of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.


• Must obtain an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 certification Type 1 and Type 2 administered by an EPA approved organization before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.


• Must possess an Arkansas HVACR registrant license within thirty (30) days of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
