Salary: $28.00 to $38.00 per hour

Job Summary

The HVAC Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facilities engineering and maintenance departments. This is a first shift position, 7am to 3:30pm M-F, with 1 week on-call per month.

Responsibilities

• Update work statuses and document tasks in the CMMS using a mobile device.
• Coordinate with building staff and vendors on projects and material needs.
• Service, repair, and diagnose malfunctions of HVAC and building systems.
• Possess working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems larger than 25 tons, pneumatic and DDC controls, fans, humidifiers, boilers, and related equipment.
• Assist in repairs and report major issues to management.
• Construct, install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Review vendor projects and create punch lists.
• Analyze and resolve complex building system issues.
• Support project management and respond to emergency repairs.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and testing of HVAC equipment.
• Recommend improvements to preventive maintenance systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in an institutional setting.
• HVAC certification or license preferred.
• Experience with blueprints, schematics, and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, bend, and perform strenuous labor.
