HVAC mechanics provide general maintenance and repair services to HVAC equipment. They perform these tasks in shop or on-site, indoors or out, using a wide variety of tools and equipment. They may be required to work additional hours or on weekends to meet service requirements. They have refrigerant recovery cards for all types of recovery.

Requires full range of body motion, including reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and walking. Must be able to lift/carry items weighting up to 50 lbs. Requires standing for extended periods of time. Requires ability to operate motorized equipment requiring manual dexterity. Must have good vision, with or without corrective lenses.
Travel required is limited to on campus and periodically off campus to obtain materials required to perform your daily duties. Randolph College requires a valid driver’s license issued from the state of Virginia to operate a college owned vehicle and as a prerequisite to driving a college owned vehicle the job applicant must pass a driver safety session with the campus security department.
