Job summary

Parrish Healthcare in Titusville, FL is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to maintain and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, chillers and cooling towers. You will follow work orders, track parts, and help ensure safe, efficient hospital environments.

The role requires a technical education and 3+ years of experience; a Florida driver’s license and EPA 608 license are preferred. Excellent teamwork and reliability are expected in a fast-paced facility setting.

Qualifications

• HVAC repair and preventive maintenance on AHUs, FCUs, chillers, pumps, cooling towers.
• Experience reading and following work orders and wiring diagrams.
• Valid Florida driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Use tools safely and correctly; return tools to proper locations.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Provide courteous service to visitors, staff, vendors.
• Locate/order parts and track delivery; store parts properly.
• Log time and complete work orders with clear notes.
• Perform PMs on HVAC equipment and document reports.

General Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Plant Operations Manager, the HVAC Mechanic repairs refrigeration equipment for preserving food, making ice, cooling water, and HVAC functions of the building

Key Responsibilities:

• Has the knowledge and ability to use the required tools to complete assigned tasks safely. Has the knowledge of using the correct tool for the job. Acquire/returns tools to the correct locations in good operating condition.
• Observes good housekeeping practices. Cleans up work area after each task. Keeps work area, shop and vehicles neat and organized.
• Provides and consistently gives cooperative and courteous service to visitors, patients, staff, vendors and co-workers as part of the organization’s commitment to quality services. Practices good team work with all in the shop.
• Locate/Order appropriate parts/supplies for repairs and maintenance activities as needed. Follow up on orders for arrival times. Once orders received, ensure parts get taken to appropriate storage locations. Ensure unused parts/supplies and tools get stored back in appropriate locations.
• Follows good time management practices. Utilizes all time to benefit Parrish Healthcare. Communicates with team to try bundle work orders when going off-site.
• Utilize work order system to track activities and time. Creates and completes work orders correctly. Enters clear comments on work completed. Logs time correctly. Completes and turns in correct paperwork associated with work orders as needed.
• Complete assigned training. Complete unassigned training/cross training to better prepare for completing multiple tasks needed at Parrish Healthcare. Assist in training others on the team.
• Completes assigned PMs in a timely manner. Fills out work order and reports correctly and accurately. Turns in applicable reports in a timely manner.
• Performs preventative maintenance on all PMC HVAC equipment. This includes AHUs, FCUs, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, exhaust fans, etc.
• Has the ability to troubleshoot HVAC equipment electrically and mechanically. Repairs/replaces HVAC components as applicable. Point of contact for HVAC vendors performing work at Parrish Facilities.
• Operates hospital building automation for all PMC facilities. Can utilize the system to help troubleshoot issues. Has the ability to make changes in the system to regulate a comfortable space for all of PMC.
• Understands role and responds to all applicable disasters and drills.
• Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.

Requirements:

Formal Education:

• Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond high school

Work Experience:

• Minimum of one (3) years experience

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:

• Valid Florida Drivers Licenses (DL) and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is acceptable to PMC’s corporate automobile insurance carrier. License will be screened prior to employment and at least annually thereafter.
• Universal 608 EPA License
• Journeyman’s License (HVAC) preferred
