Job Title: HVAC Master Ammonia/Freon Technician
Location: San Antonio
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing ammonia refrigeration on commercial low-temperature coolers & freezers.
- Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment.
- Dismantle malfunctioning system and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
- Responds to emergency Calls regarding refrigeration systems.
Physical Requirements
- Physical demands with activity or conditions that require considerable time include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying products.
- Ability to frequently lift or move 75 lbs. packages.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 100+ degrees.
- Ability to work from elevated catwalks, aerial lift platforms, ladders, and scissor lift.
Minimum Requirements
- Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in refrigeration and HVAC and utility equipment/systems operation, repair, and maintenance. (RETA Certification – CARO and CIRO)
- EPA refrigerant recovery certification.
- HAZMAT training certification preferred.
- Must be able to work in -40 to 100+ degree temperatures.
- Must be able to provide own hand tools.
- Must have working knowledge of Process Safety Management program (PSM) relative to Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must pass drug screen, background (clear), MVR (clear), Pass Physical and all levels of PAT Test.
- Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and 5 years of driving experience.
- Some travel is required.
