Job Title: HVAC Master Ammonia/Freon Technician

Location: San Antonio

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing ammonia refrigeration on commercial low-temperature coolers & freezers.
• Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment.
• Dismantle malfunctioning system and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
• Responds to emergency Calls regarding refrigeration systems.

Physical Requirements

• Physical demands with activity or conditions that require considerable time include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying products.
• Ability to frequently lift or move 75 lbs. packages.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 100+ degrees.
• Ability to work from elevated catwalks, aerial lift platforms, ladders, and scissor lift.

Minimum Requirements

• Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in refrigeration and HVAC and utility equipment/systems operation, repair, and maintenance. (RETA Certification – CARO and CIRO)
• EPA refrigerant recovery certification.
• HAZMAT training certification preferred.
• Must be able to work in -40 to 100+ degree temperatures.
• Must be able to provide own hand tools.
• Must have working knowledge of Process Safety Management program (PSM) relative to Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must pass drug screen, background (clear), MVR (clear), Pass Physical and all levels of PAT Test.
• Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and 5 years of driving experience.
• Some travel is required.
