I8IS - Infiniti Software Solutions is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician for positions in Sterling, VA; Alexandria, VA; and San Antonio, TX. The role requires hands-on industrial ammonia refrigeration experience and relevant certifications.

The ideal candidate will manage operating, testing, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems, including spiral freezers, while adhering to safety standards and completing all documentation and PSM records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in industrial food manufacturing.
• Must hold Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA.
• EPA Type II Certification required.
• Must pass a respirator fit test and pulmonary function test.
• Must complete a 24-hour Hazmat class.
• Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and subsystems.
• Perform planned maintenance on ammonia refrigeration and utility systems.
• Operate and maintain spiral freezers.
• Conduct system pump-downs for component repairs.
• Perform daily rounds of temperatures and system conditions.
• Test chemicals on boilers and condenser towers.
• Troubleshoot boiler, hot water, compressed air, electrical and electronic systems.
• Maintain safety and maintenance standards in refrigeration rooms.
• Complete work orders and PSM-related documentation.

The client specifically needs Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians who have hands-on experience working with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.

Candidates with only general HVAC, residential HVAC, or standard commercial HVAC experience should not be considered unless they also have qualifying industrial ammonia refrigeration experience.

• Perform planned maintenance on ammonia refrigeration and utility systems.
• Operate and maintain spiral freezers.
• Perform ammonia system pump-downs for repairs/replacement of refrigeration components.
• Conduct daily rounds and inspections of ammonia system temperatures and conditions.
• Perform chemical testing on boilers and condenser towers.
• Troubleshoot and maintain boiler, hot water, domestic cold water, compressed air, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Maintain refrigeration and utility rooms according to established safety and maintenance standards.
• Complete work orders, PSM-related documentation, refrigeration records, and operating notes.
• Follow all Safety, LOTO, GMP, SOP, and PSM requirements.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager.
