Job summary

SDK Millbridge Gardens is seeking a full‑time HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team in Clementon, NJ. The role focuses on maintaining HVAC systems, hot water heaters, and related building systems to ensure resident safety and comfort.

Qualified candidates will have a Universal or Type 2 License, 5–7 years HVAC experience, and at least 2 years of building maintenance in multifamily settings. On‑call availability and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Universal or Type 2 License.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of HVAC experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in a multifamily environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmithing, painting, dry-wall repair, and snow removal.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and follow-through skills.
  • Available for on-call emergency services on an as-needed basis.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Possess stellar references and stable work history.
  • Must be able to work with any employer in the US without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Model behavior aligned with SDK values when interacting with anyone associated with SDK.
  • Ensure all HVAC systems and hot water heaters are well maintained and operational.
  • Replace HVAC systems including central air units and hot water heaters as needed.
  • Assess and repair issues including HVAC systems, hot water heaters, electrical, plumbing, painting, minor tile work, and carpentry.
  • Install, replace or repair damaged or new equipment and appliances.
  • Aim to resolve service requests within 24 hours, following established work order procedures; communicate progress to the team.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance procedures are completed.
  • Ensure all apartment unit turnovers are completed timely.
  • Be on-call to address urgent resident matters after regular hours.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding preventive maintenance, service requests, and work in progress items.
  • Collaborate with the property team to maintain a safe community.
  • Perform routine grounds and property maintenance including snow removal and general cleaning.
  • Address ad hoc projects as assigned.

About the Position

As our HVAC maintenance technician, you will…

  • Model behavior that is aligned with SDK values when interacting with anyone associated with SDK.

  • Ensure all procedures related to apartment unit turnovers are completed in a timely manner.
  • Be on‑call to address urgent resident matters after regular work hours.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, service requests, apartment make‑ready status, and work in progress items.
  • Collaborate with the property team members to maintain a safe community.
  • As needed, be responsible for routine grounds and property maintenance, including but not limited to, snow removal and general cleaning.
  • Address ad hoc projects as assigned.

About Your Professional Background & Skills

  • Must have a Universal or Type 2 License.
  • A minimum of 5 – 7 years of HVAC experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in a multifamily environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmithing, painting, dry‑wall repair, and snow removal.

The gross hourly pay range for this position is between $30.00 - 32.00. The actual compensation will be based on factors unique to the candidate, including direct years of experience and depth of knowledge.
