Job summary

Willard Cooling, Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical is seeking an experienced Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance and diagnose HVAC issues across residential and commercial equipment. You will identify potential failures, provide clear recommendations, and communicate options to customers with professionalism.

We value safety, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple service calls with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • EPA certification required.
  • 1+ years of HVAC experience.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools common to the trade.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on HVAC systems and diagnose issues.
  • Recognize potential breakdowns and make recommendations to customers.
  • Communicate repair options clearly to customers.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with laws and maintain vehicle upkeep.
  • Submit customer invoices and document diagnostics using company iPad.
  • Maintain professional relationships with team members and customers.

Who You Are

Service Technicians perform thorough maintenance on all ages of equipment, with the ability to accurately diagnose heating and air conditioning system issues. You must be able to recognize potential breakdown issues before they happen and make the a ppropriate recommendations to the customer. You must also be comfortable asking for money and deliver excellent communication skills.

Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and maintain attendance based on business needs.
  • Ensure new/returning customers’ concerns are addressed and handled appropriately, timely , and in an accurate manner.
  • Ability to manage stress, difficult, or emotional customer situations.
  • Operating company vehicles, and you will be expected to follow all state and federal laws, as well as maintain the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the vehicles.
  • Safety responsibilities & requirements will be provided in training, and no tolerance will be accepted for disregard of safety instructions.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, meters, hand tools, and all other test equipment utilized in the trade.
  • Perform skilled maintenance work in the repair, installation, and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors, and any other wiring system as needed.
  • Submit customer invoices via company iPad, correctly documenting customer equipment information, diagnostics, and all recommended repairs.
  • Perform proper maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems that prevents systems from breaking down and provide safety and comfort for our clients.
  • Communicate options to clients for maintenance, repairs, and replacement
  • Ability to speak and maintain professionalism to customers, team members, and vendors.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • EPA
  • 1+ years of HVAC experience

  • The ability to perform basic mathematical functions

  • Service Titan experience
  • Basic Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) knowledge and experience
  • Sales experience
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Skill in performing routine manual labor

The employee must be comfortable working in tight spaces for an extended period of time in attics and crawl spaces as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation & Hours
  • $50,000- $90,000 annually
  • Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible start and end times depending on business needs)
  • Days: Monday - Friday with occasional weekends
