Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The HVAC Maintenance Mechanic will perform maintenance work including repair and replacement of HVAC systems, inspection, cleaning, and lubrication of fans, motors, coils, and pumps. They will also perform semi-skilled work in various trades related to building maintenance, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, appliances, and electrical fixtures, as well as repairs to windows, drywall, flooring, and painting.

Education and Experience

Must have the ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English. A high school diploma or GED, vocational training in HVAC, and 4 years of HVAC experience are required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform strenuous activities. Ability to drive a pickup truck and van is required.

Work Environment

Work may be performed in adverse weather conditions typical of Florida, often without air conditioning or heating.

Licenses and Certifications

Must possess an EPA Refrigerant License, be insurable by JHA’s insurance, and hold a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Salary Range

[$12.34 – $14.21], with hiring expected between the minimum and first quartile, depending on experience. Existing employees may be eligible for higher pay within the range.
