The Jacksonville Housing Authority is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to perform essential maintenance tasks for HVAC systems. The HVAC Maintenance Mechanic will perform maintenance work including repair and replacement of HVAC systems, inspection, cleaning, and lubrication of fans, motors, coils, and pumps. They will also perform semi-skilled work in various trades related to building maintenance, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, appliances, and electrical fixtures, as well as repairs to windows, drywall, flooring, and painting.
Must have the ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English. A high school diploma or GED, vocational training in HVAC, and 4 years of HVAC experience are required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform strenuous activities. Ability to drive a pickup truck and van is required.
Work may be performed in adverse weather conditions typical of Florida, often without air conditioning or heating.
Must possess an EPA Refrigerant License, be insurable by JHA’s insurance, and hold a valid Florida Driver’s License.
[$12.34 – $14.21], with hiring expected between the minimum and first quartile, depending on experience. Existing employees may be eligible for higher pay within the range.
