About this role:

The HVAC Lead Install Technician oversees the installation, upgrade, and replacement of HVAC systems in residential properties. This role involves leading a team of technicians to ensure high-quality and efficient service. Responsibilities include handling complex installations, providing technical expertise, ensuring safety and industry standards compliance, managing customer interactions, resolving issues, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The technician also manages inventory and tools, and contributes to team training and development.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, upgrading, and replacing HVAC systems in residential homes accurately.
  • Cutting, threading, and connecting pipes (copper or PVC) and handling high and low voltage wiring.
  • Training and mentoring Install Helpers on job sites and in the shop to enhance their skills.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and effective communication with homeowners.
  • Performing physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and moving objects over 50 pounds.
  • Maintaining tools, parts, and vehicles in an organized and clean manner.
  • Working safely at heights, in tight spaces (e.g., attics), and under various weather conditions.
  • Adhering to appliance standards, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and service standards.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of HVAC experience, preferably in residential settings, demonstrating hands-on technical skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
  • Valid EPA certification for environmental compliance.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and critical thinking skills for resolving complex HVAC issues.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a strong commitment to quality work.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to address client needs effectively.
  • Professional interaction skills across all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility, innovation, and ability to collaborate in dynamic environments.

Physical requirements include:

  • Regularly lifting 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, and using hand tools.
  • Ability to drive.
  • Working in indoor and outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing.
  • Handling objects and controls with hands; reaching with arms.
  • Stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching regularly.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
