Overview

Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking to add a new member to its Engineering Department! We are looking for a qualified HVAC Kitchen Mechanic / Refrigeration Technician. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. The technician will also service appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical household or commercial appliances throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigerators, ice machines, and freezers.
• Repair, install, and service stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical appliances. May assist in recommending repair or purchase options.
• Lay out reference points for installation of structural and functional components using measuring tools.
• Inspect appliances during operation to detect issues like vibration, overheating, leaks, or loose parts.
• Replace worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, belts, gears, and wiring.
• Maintain and troubleshoot package units, compressors, pneumatic controls, refrigerators, and ice machines.
• Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
• Maintain kitchen hoods and exhaust systems.
• Perform general maintenance duties as needed.
• Use equipment and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Keep work areas safe and in good condition.
• Assist in training new staff or temporary workers.

Qualifications

• Open availability to work Day, Swing, or Graveyard shifts.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California gambling establishment employee permit, badge, or license.
• Provide evidence of employment eligibility.
• Pass a mandatory drug test, criminal background, and credit check.

Education / Certifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in HVAC, A/C, or refrigeration; EPA license required.
• Relevant professional education on pneumatic controls and compressor renovation, with 1-3 years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
• HVAC and/or EPA license required.
