Job summary

Dorsey College seeks an Instructor – HVAC to deliver high-quality classroom instruction across lecture, clinical, and laboratory formats based on the approved course outline. You will select teaching materials and methods to address all learning modalities and ensure students achieve course objectives.

The role emphasizes maintaining strong student retention and success metrics, and participating in faculty development and interdepartmental collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, diploma, or certificate in HVAC/R or engineering from a DOE-accredited program.
• One year teaching or field experience in the subject, or documented apprenticeship with a licensed HVAC/R journeyman.
• Certification from a recognized certifying agency must be obtained within 120 days of first day.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver quality instruction in lecture, lab, or clinical formats.
• Assess student learning using appropriate methods and monitor outcomes like retention and attendance.
• Advise students on attendance and grades to ensure successful course completion.
• Maintain classroom environment and compliance with campus policies; provide timely communication with students.
