Job summary

Forsyth Technical Community College is seeking a full-time HVAC Instructor for a 12-month appointment to deliver high-quality instruction in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems, including heat pumps, air conditioning, and heating units. The role serves incarcerated students, workforce development participants, and employed contractors seeking upskilling or certification.

Qualifications

HVAC certificate with at least 3 years of industry experience.
HVAC diploma with at least 2 years of industry experience.
Licensed HVAC professional with at least 5 years of industry experience.
EPA-608 certification required.
Associate’s Degree from an HVAC technical school preferred (accredited).

Responsibilities

Deliver classroom, lab, and on-site training for students.
Provide instruction tailored to incarcerated learners and workforce participants.
Maintain all required College records, including attendance and grade reports.
Prepare bibliographies, supplemental materials, and reading assignments.
Recommend supplies, equipment, and repairs to the Program Coordinator.
Construct, administer, and grade examinations and assessments.
Remain familiar with and adhere to all college policies and procedures.
Operate computers and other electronic equipment and support facilities as needed.
