Louisiana Delta Community College seeks an instructor to teach HVAC and HACR program courses, preparing students for entry-level employment. The instructor will provide classroom and hands-on training, focusing on fundamentals, installation, and safety in commercial and industrial HACR systems.

The position supports workforce readiness, correctional education partnerships, and the college mission, working with diverse learners in a correctional education setting.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in HVAC/HACR or related field required.
• Minimum of three years of current industry experience.
• Teaching or training experience in workforce development preferred.
• Strong communication and instructional skills.
• Commitment to high standards of instruction and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC/HACR courses 35 hours per week during spring, summer, and fall.
• Develop curriculum aligned with state and accreditation guidelines.
• Assess student learning outcomes and participate in program assessment.
• Participate in college meetings, committees, and recruitment activities.
• Support student retention and completion goals.

Education

Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in HVAC, HACR, or related field

Prior teaching or training experience at college/technical school

Industry certifications related to HACR

Familiarity with safety practices and industrial safety protocols

Experience using instructional technology, LMS, CANVAS
