Candidates should hold relevant certifications or degrees as specified, with substantial instructional experience and commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

• Active certification or licensure where required.
• At least 5 years industry experience within the last 10 years.
• For non-degreed/occupational courses: 3+ years practical work experience in instruction.
• For degree courses: 4+ years practical work experience in instruction plus related degree at same level as course.
• Online faculty must have a master’s degree in the content area or an equivalent master’s with relevant coursework.
• Exception: up to 8 years practical experience may be substituted with justification by campus.
• Master’s degree with 18 semester hours in subject area is preferred.
• Some states require 18 semester hours at the master’s level.
• Prior teaching experience or complete instructor training is required before teaching.
• Ability to qualify as instructor per standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize classroom and lab instruction to engage students.
• Ensure material is presented to meet learning objectives.
• Maintain materials and equipment in working order.
• Participate in faculty assessment and development.
• Prepare reports and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines.
