Job summary

The Newark Board of Education seeks a Teacher of HVAC to lead a comprehensive HVAC program aligned with state vocational standards. You will develop and deliver hands-on lessons, ensure safety, and help students master HVAC techniques.

Reporting to the Principal, you’ll coordinate with staff, assess student progress, manage equipment inventories, and promote CTSO activities to foster leadership and college and career readiness. Commitment to inclusive practices is expected.

Qualifications

• NJ Department of Education standard certificate or CE/CEAS as required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Ability to plan a program of study meeting student needs in HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study meeting student needs and develops HVAC skills.
• Implements HVAC curriculum aligning with state vocational standards.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for HVAC.
• Monitors and assesses student progress; adjusts instruction as needed.
• Maintains safety protocols in classroom and lab settings.
• Coordinates with staff and participates in faculty activities.
• Encourages CTSO participation and student leadership.
