Job summary

The HVAC Instructor at The Technical College of the Lowcountry delivers quality instruction to students in HVAC programs across multiple locations including Ridgeland Correctional Facilities, Colleton, Hampton, Beaufort and Bluffton Campus.

The role encompasses instructional development, teaching performance, student advisement, professional development, and college/community service within the HVAC program, with responsibilities spanning curriculum refinement, assessments, and advisory duties.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in appropriate discipline is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred for HVAC instructors.
• NATE certification preferred for HVAC instructors.
• EPA Universal EPA certification required for HVAC program.

Responsibilities

• Work with HVAC Advisory Committee to plan new/existing programs and courses.
• Assist in HVAC curriculum development and refinement.
• Evaluate HVAC courses and maintain curriculum quality.
• Teach HVAC courses as assigned per syllabi and maintain high-quality instruction.
• Assess student progress and participate in the Faculty Performance Management System.
• Maintain office hours and provide effective advisement for HVAC students.
• Represent division in professional meetings and maintain awareness of educational innovations.
• Recruit students and market the Heating-Ventilation program; engage with the community.
• Manage instructional facilities, reports, and compliance with policies.
• Maintain HVAC labs and vendor certifications related to the program.

Education

Associate's degree in appropriate discipline

Bachelor's degree preferred

NATE certification preferred

Certification in Heat Pump and universal EPA required
