Savannah Technical College is seeking a full-time Air Conditioning Technology instructor to teach students in classroom and lab environments and to advise students while performing departmental duties.

The position requires five years of work experience in Air Conditioning Technology or an Associate’s Degree with two years of experience, plus EPA Section 608 certification; teaching experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with education and experience, with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with computer skills.
• Current EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Teaching experience at a postsecondary institution preferred.

• Recruitment and retention of students.

• Flexible work schedule hours to include day/evening classes.

Job Description

Position HVAC Instructor

Savannah Technical College is seeking a full-time Air Conditioning Technology instructor. The instructor is responsible for teaching students in classroom and lab environments as well as advising students and performing various departmental and school wide assignments.

Education and Occupational Experiences

Physical Demands

Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50LBS. The work is performed in campus buildings and outdoors where the employee is occasionally exposed to cold or inclement weather. The exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in the laboratory environment. The ability to distinguish colors is required for purposes of electrical wiring. The ability to speak clearly is required. The ability to hear and understand at a normal conversational level is required.
