Overview

Description Job Title: HVAC Installer - New Construction. Pay Range: $19 – $25 per hour (Plus EPA Certification Incentive). Position Summary

The HVAC New Construction Installer is responsible for the complete installation of HVAC systems in residential and light commercial projects. From the initial rough-in to the final startup, you will ensure that every duct, line set, and piece of equipment is installed to Edelman’s high standards. You will work under the guidance of a Lead Installer but are expected to have the competency to complete standard tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Excellence: Install furnaces, air handlers, condensers, and ventilation systems. Run line sets, drain lines, gas piping, and venting with surgical precision.
  • Blueprint Accuracy: Read and follow mechanical plans and layouts to ensure systems are placed correctly the first time.
  • The Edelman Standard: Maintain a "better than we found it" job site. Keep your vehicle clean, organized, and stocked (80/20 program) to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with builders, site supervisors, and other trades on-site to keep projects on schedule and within labor budgets.
  • Startup & Testing: Ensure all work meets local codes and perform troubleshooting on-site to ensure the system is ready for the homeowner.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months to 3 years of residential HVAC install experience.
  • Certifications: EPA Certification (Required. If not currently held, a $1.00/hr raise is awarded upon completion).
  • Compliance: Must pass a drug screen and background check; valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Tools: Possession of basic hand tools necessary for Install Level 2 work.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and subcontractors in a professional manner.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs consistently.
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and varying Illinois weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and use power tools safely.
