Summary: Tempo's Residential HVAC Installer - Lead will remove and install all types of Heating and Air Conditioning ventilation systems in residential and multi-family buildings. Installations will be up to code with Tempo's quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Disassemble and reassemble residential equipment for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  2. Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
  3. Test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning.
  4. Inspect systems to ensure proper operation.
  5. Discuss malfunctions with users to isolate problems or verify repairs.
  6. Service HVAC systems to improve efficiency, including changing filters, cleaning ducts, or refilling refrigerants.
  7. Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers.
  8. Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment for installation.
  9. Handle components and equipment to test, set up, or maintain HVAC systems.
  10. Follow written and verbal instructions and complete documentation of work performed.
  11. Operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.
  12. Work flexible hours as required.
  13. Develop customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
  14. Maintain NATE and EPA Certifications.
  15. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  16. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills.
  17. Maintain a positive attitude, accountability, and pride in workmanship.
  18. Be willing to learn and attend training.
  19. Be reliable, organized, and driven.
  20. Proficient in retrofit installations and duct system installations.
  21. Knowledge of gas furnaces, electric heating components, and heat pump systems.
  22. Troubleshoot and problem-solve in dynamic environments.
  23. Maintain safety knowledge regarding tools, electrical currents, gases, heights, and surroundings.
  24. Handle physical workload in demanding environments under deadlines.
  25. Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  26. Operate company vehicles safely and professionally.
  27. Use gauges, meters, and tools effectively.
  28. Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  29. Work independently and under pressure, adhering to scheduled demands.

Physical Qualifications:

  1. Tolerance to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation.
  2. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in tight spaces like attics and basements.
  3. Climb ladders and work from heights as required.
  4. Must not exceed 300 pounds including clothes and equipment for OSHA compliance.
  5. Ability to exert significant force regularly and frequently.
