Summary: Tempo's Residential HVAC Installer - Lead will remove and install all types of Heating and Air Conditioning ventilation systems in residential and multi-family buildings. Installations will be up to code with Tempo's quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Disassemble and reassemble residential equipment for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
- Test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning.
- Inspect systems to ensure proper operation.
- Discuss malfunctions with users to isolate problems or verify repairs.
- Service HVAC systems to improve efficiency, including changing filters, cleaning ducts, or refilling refrigerants.
- Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment for installation.
- Handle components and equipment to test, set up, or maintain HVAC systems.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and complete documentation of work performed.
- Operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.
- Work flexible hours as required.
- Develop customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Maintain NATE and EPA Certifications.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude, accountability, and pride in workmanship.
- Be willing to learn and attend training.
- Be reliable, organized, and driven.
- Proficient in retrofit installations and duct system installations.
- Knowledge of gas furnaces, electric heating components, and heat pump systems.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve in dynamic environments.
- Maintain safety knowledge regarding tools, electrical currents, gases, heights, and surroundings.
- Handle physical workload in demanding environments under deadlines.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
- Operate company vehicles safely and professionally.
- Use gauges, meters, and tools effectively.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Work independently and under pressure, adhering to scheduled demands.
Physical Qualifications:
- Tolerance to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in tight spaces like attics and basements.
- Climb ladders and work from heights as required.
- Must not exceed 300 pounds including clothes and equipment for OSHA compliance.
- Ability to exert significant force regularly and frequently.
