Job summary

Childers Air Plumbing & Electric is hiring an HVAC Installer to join the installation team in Beckley, WV. You will install and service HVAC systems, handle refrigerant lines, ductwork, and electrical connections, and ensure proper startup and operation of each system.

The role requires hands-on skills, the ability to lift heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. A clean driving record and EPA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• HVAC installation experience preferred.
• EPA certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Able to lift heavy equipment and work in tight or confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems including furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, air handlers, and ductwork.
• Remove and replace existing equipment and set up refrigerant lines, ductwork, gas piping, and electrical components.
• Perform brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, and system charging; complete startup and verify operation.
• Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized; protect customers’ homes during installation.
• Communicate with installers, dispatch, and management and document work with photos.

What You’ll Do

• Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including:
  • Furnaces
  • Air conditioners
  • Heat pumps
  • Air handlers
  • Package units
  • Ductwork & thermostats
• Remove and replace existing HVAC equipment
• Set and connect:
  • Refrigerant lines
  • Drain lines
  • Ductwork
  • Gas piping
  • Electrical components and controls
• Perform brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, and system charging
• Assist with duct modifications and airflow improvements
• Follow all installation codes, manufacturer specs, and company standards
• Complete system startup and verify proper operation
• Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized
• Protect customers’ homes during installation
• Communicate with installers, dispatch, and management throughout projects
• Take before-and-after job photos and complete service documentation
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials
• Show up on time, in uniform, and ready to work
• Work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and outdoor environments

What We’re Looking For
