Job summary

Astra Air & Repair in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced HVAC Installation & Service Technician who can diagnose, repair, maintain, and install residential systems while delivering outstanding customer service. This role works with our Licensed HVAC Service Manager to meet safety and quality standards and requires problem-solving, independence, and a commitment to excellence.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of residential HVAC experience, EPA 608 certification, a valid Texas driver license,

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of residential HVAC experience.
EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred).
Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Experience performing both service calls and complete HVAC installations.
Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

Diagnose residential HVAC issues efficiently and accurately.
Repair air conditioning systems, furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, thermostats, and IAQ equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups.
Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and mechanical issues.
Recommend repair or replacement solutions when appropriate.
Install complete residential HVAC systems per manufacturer specs.
Start up systems, test, charge refrigerant, and conduct final inspections.
Ensure installations comply with local codes and company standards.
Clearly communicate findings, repairs, and recommendations.
