Job description

HVAC Install Apprentice | Paid Training to $35/hr Lead Installer | Seattle One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning of Seattle Full-time | $25.00/hour starting | Seattle and surrounding King and Snohomish County areas

Stop applying to jobs. Apply to a career with a written map.

Most HVAC companies will hire you, hand you a drill, and hope you figure it out. We built something different: a written, 5-year apprenticeship pathway where every raise has a date, a dollar amount, and a clear requirement attached to it. You will never have to wonder what your next promotion takes, because we will hand it to you on day one.

Here is exactly what your pay looks like:

Where you are

What You Earn

Day 1: Install Apprentice | $25.00/hour

:Year 1: Installer I (after your 06B license) | $28.00/hour

:Year 2: Installer II (after your 06A license) | $31.00/hour

Year 3: Lead Installer, running your own crew | $35.00/hour

Year 5: Your choice | $40.00/hour or $81,000 salary

That is not a recruiting gimmick. It is a published internal document, and you will get a copy at your interview.

We pay for every credential. All of them.

By the end of year 3 you will hold, at our expense:

  • EPA 608 Universal certification (first 90 days)
  • Washington 06B specialty electrician license (:year 1)
  • Washington 06A journeyman-level specialty electrician license (:year 2)
  • NATE Certification with Installation specialty
  • Seattle Refrigeration Mechanic license

Exam fees, retakes, the 48-hour classroom course, continuing education, renewals: covered. Those credentials are yours for life, and they make you employable anywhere in the state. We are betting we will be good enough that you will want to stay.

What you will actually do

  • Learn real craft from a NATE-certified team: nitrogen-purged brazing, sheet metal, proper evacuations, heat pumps, and ductless systems, not just demo and haul-out
  • Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits in homes across the Seattle area
  • Work side by side with our lead technician and a hands-on owner every single day
  • Progress through a skills checklist where a real person signs off on your work, so your promotions are earned and documented, not political

Why us instead of the big consolidator shops

We are a locally owned One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning franchise, not a private-equity rollup. The owner is a former Amazon Web Services engineer who holds his own 06A license, NATE certification, and Seattle Refrigeration Mechanic license, and built this apprenticeship the way engineers build systems: documented, measurable, and fair. When the owner has done the licensing path himself, he does not treat apprentices like cheap labor. He treats them like the future of the company.

You will be one of the first apprentices through the program, which means maximum mentorship, zero waiting in line behind fifty other techs, and a genuine shot at running crews as we grow.

What we are looking for

  • Trade school graduates (Perry Tech, Bates, Renton Technical, Lake Washington Tech, Edmonds, and similar programs) OR hard-working career changers with mechanical aptitude. No HVAC experience required.
  • Comfortable with physical work: attics, crawlspaces, ladders, lifting
  • Valid Washington driver's license with a clean record
  • Reliable, coachable, and respectful in customers' homes
  • Eligible for a Washington electrical trainee certificate (we will walk you through getting it)

Pay and benefits

  • $25.00/hour starting wage with the published progression above ($25.00 to $35.00/hour over 3 years; $40.00/hour or $81,000/year at the 5-year mark)
  • All licensing, certification, and continuing education costs paid
  • Company vehicle use during work hours, tools and uniforms provided
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • Washington workers' compensation and paid sick leave per state law
  • Clear annual reviews with a written scorecard, so raises are never a mystery

How to apply
