Job summary

Five Star Home Services in Ohio is seeking an HVAC Install Assistant to work with an experienced Install Lead installing heating and cooling systems in customers' homes. No HVAC experience required; you will receive hands-on training and learn a skilled trade.

You will perform removal and installation of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment, learn brazing, electrical connections, and safe jobsite practices while earning hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• No HVAC experience is required.
• Dependable and eager to learn.
• Hands-on worker who enjoys figuring out how things work.
• Able to follow instructions and work in a two-person installation team.
• Comfortable in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and various indoor/outdoor settings.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willing to obtain EPA Section 608 Certification within 3–6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with removal and installation of residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment.
• Safely use HVAC tools, equipment, and materials.
• Assist with low- and line-voltage electrical connections.
• Install and prepare copper refrigerant lines, including brazing and soldering techniques.
• Assist with gas piping and equipment connections.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and Five Star installation standards.
• Protect customers' homes and maintain a clean, organized jobsite.
• Keep installation vehicles, tools, and materials organized and properly stocked.
• Work efficiently with your Install Lead to complete installations on schedule.
• Communicate professionally with customers and teammates.
• Participate in classroom, technical, and on-the-job training to continually develop your HVAC skills.
