Job summary

Utica Community Schools in Sterling Heights, MI seeks a Skilled Trades Heat Vent Technician to maintain and repair HVAC systems across the Auxiliary Services Facility. You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, and perform preventive maintenance on heating and ventilation components.

The role requires at least four years in HVAC, a valid operator's license, and preferred Michigan HVAC license. This is a full-time position with daily work orders and potential second shift.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in the heating and ventilation field.
• Must read and write in English and communicate clearly.
• State of Michigan Mechanical License related to HVAC preferred (not required).
• Must hold a valid operator's license and a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Adjust, repair, and test thermostats (electrical and pneumatic).
• Repair, lubricate, and test damper control motors, valves, and related equipment.
• Adjust gas-fired burners, combustion controls, gas valves.
• Maintain pneumatic and DDC controls.
• Knowledge in repair of Commercial Kitchen equipment.
• Carry out work assignments and complete electronic work orders daily.
• May be required to work second shift.
• Pick up debris and perform other duties as assigned, including assisting Plumbing Department and general repairs.
