Kimley-Horn's Mechanical/HVAC Commissioning Field Specialist in Tampa, FL will support our MEP team by performing commissioning for construction-phase projects, conducting field tests, calibrations, and documenting results.

You will coordinate with contractors and project managers, write field reports, and verify compliance with specifications while upholding our commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical construction experience
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing/piping, BMS controls & lighting systems
• Experience with CAD/BIM software and basic engineering calc tools is a plus
• Documented commissioning training from a recognized body is a plus
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Construction management knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Mechanical/HVAC Commissioning Field Specialist to join our MEP team in the Tampa, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide commissioning related services for MEP engineering projects during construction phases.
• Perform quality checks and inspections on installed systems.
• Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot hardware, sensors, and control panels.
• Track project progress, complete checklists, and log deficiencies or punch lists.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project managers during startup.
• Write field reports and verify compliance with project specifications

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical construction
• General Knowledge of in the following disciplines HVAC, Plumbing/piping, BMS controls & lighting systems
• Experience in computer operation and the ability to learn engineering calculation programs and computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose of accessing and interpreting design requirements, is a plus.
• Documented commissioning training from a nationally recognized professional body, is a plus..
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
