Job summary

Hawkins Service Company is seeking an HVAC Field Supervisor to lead field technicians, balance office coordination with site work, and ensure quality, safety, and timely service. The role blends hands-on HVAC expertise with coaching and team development.

The successful candidate will split time between the Temple Terrace office and job sites, providing real-time guidance, troubleshooting, and backup on tough calls, while driving efficiency and safety across field operations.

• Partner with dispatch and the office to manage schedules, routing, and response times.
• Ensure technicians have the tools, materials, and information needed for every job.
• Track job progress and keep the office and management informed with no surprises.
• Perform quality inspections and enforce safety and workmanship standards.
• Mentor and coach technicians to sharpen skills and performance.

The Role

As our HVAC Field Supervisor, you’re the link between our field technicians and our office. You split your time between the office and job sites, serving as the go-to person when a tech needs real-time troubleshooting help, technical guidance, or backup on a tough call. You own quality, efficiency, and safety in the field, and you help build the next generation of Hawkins technicians. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who knows HVAC inside and out and would rather coach a tech through a problem than just fix it for them.

What You’ll Do

Back up the field

• Serve as the primary support contact for technicians during service calls, with real-time troubleshooting and technical guidance
• Conduct field visits to support techs, inspect work quality, and coach on the spot
• Step in on complex or escalated service issues and challenging customer situations

Keep jobs moving

• Partner with dispatch and the office to manage schedules, job priorities, routing, and response times
• Make sure techs have the tools, materials, and information they need for every job
• Track job progress and keep the office and management informed, with no surprises

Protect quality and safety

• Perform quality inspections and hold the line on workmanship, safety, and customer service standards
• Enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance in the field
• Spot areas for improvement and put corrective actions in place

Grow the team

• Mentor and coach technicians to sharpen their skills and performance
• Support onboarding and training for new team members alongside Hawkins University
• Promote best practices, efficiency, and professionalism in the field and the office

What You Bring

Must-haves

• Proven experience in HVAC field service, installation, or technical operations
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach others
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort with mobile technology, dispatch software, and communication tools
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between job sites
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces and varying temperatures, and stand, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods

Nice-to-haves

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience (strongly preferred)
• Home services or residential HVAC experience
