Job summary

Department of Corrections - SDSP in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an HVAC Specialist for a full-time, 40-hour work week. You will maintain HVAC and building systems, provide cost estimates for projects, inspect facilities, and onboard new staff to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Knowledge of Metasys/Johnson Controls is preferred, along with the ability to train staff and keep thorough maintenance records. The role offers hourly pay and benefits including health insurance, vacation, retirement

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of the trades supervised.
• Knowledge of safety measures and occupational hazards of the trades.
• Knowledge of Metasys/Johnson Controls.

Responsibilities

• Train and onboard new staff.
• Provide cost estimates of proposed projects.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance needs.
• Perform skilled building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, HVAC, painting, locksmith, and preventive maintenance).
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure continued operation.
• Repair or replace plumbing lines and fixtures as needed.
• Build or remodel interiors/exteriors to meet maintenance needs and complete work orders.
• Complete reports to verify costs and account for activities.
• Manage equipment, tools, and supplies distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
