Job summary

Kelso Building Services, a regional HVAC specialist, seeks a detail-oriented estimator to join the preconstruction team. You will develop cost analyses, review plans, and prepare competitive proposals for commercial HVAC projects.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in HVAC estimating, strong analytical skills, and experience with digital takeoffs and budgeting. This role supports project turnover and ongoing cost control.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in HVAC estimating or related construction roles.
• Experience preparing cost estimates for commercial HVAC construction projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical building systems and construction methodologies.
• Ability to perform detailed takeoffs from digital drawings and documents.
• Experience with negotiated work or conceptual budgeting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete project cost projections for commercial HVAC installations, retrofits, tenant improvements, and facility upgrades.
• Review plans and specifications to determine labor, material, and equipment needs.
• Prepare quantity surveys for HVAC equipment, duct systems, controls, piping, and accessories.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain current pricing and product information.
• Analyze project scope and identify cost, schedule, or constructability impacts.
