Job summary

K Komfort Heating & Cooling in Brandon, FL is seeking an HVAC Estimator with 2–10 years of experience to price plans and bid across multiple market verticals. You will collaborate with design, project development, purchasing, and construction from review through turnover.

The ideal candidate brings strong takeoff and pricing skills, knowledge of HVAC systems, and the ability to manage deadlines while coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• HVAC estimating experience with a mechanical contractor preferred.
• Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets and digital takeoff tools.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specs and schedules.
• Strong communication with vendors, designers and construction teams.
• Ability to manage multiple bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Degree in construction management or mechanical engineering is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for complete estimates.
• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to define HVAC scope and risks.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for equipment, ductwork, piping, and related components.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals for coverage and qualifications.
• Prepare bid clarifications, exclusions, and value engineering options.
• Coordinate with internal design teams to price conceptual and design-build solutions.
• Participate in bid reviews and establish pricing strategy with preconstruction leadership.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field leaders to validate labor assumptions.
• Prepare estimate handoffs communicating scope and budget.
• Maintain organized estimate records and improve estimating tools.
