Job summary

Confidential Employer in Wakefield, MA is seeking an HVAC Estimator to join our growing mechanical contracting team. You will prepare detailed estimates for commercial HVAC projects, reviewing drawings and bid documents to define project requirements.

You will collaborate with subcontractors and project teams to develop competitive bids, analyze costs, and identify savings opportunities, while adhering to NFPA codes and using QuickPen when needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical construction.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical piping, and construction materials.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with material takeoffs, estimating, or construction cost analysis.
• Working knowledge of HVAC piping and applicable NFPA codes.
• QuickPen estimating software experience is highly desirable; Microsoft Office 365 proficiency is expected.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience and training.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and mechanical drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project requirements.
• Work with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and develop accurate proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs to better understand project scope.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop competitive, well-organized bids.
• Analyze project costs, identify opportunities for savings, and improve estimating accuracy.
• Help streamline estimating processes and maintain accurate project cost information.
