Job summary

TLC Plumbing Heating Cooling Electrical in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join our Commercial Services team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial HVAC estimating, is proficient with reading drawings and estimating software such as Bluebeam, and skilled in bid development, vendor pricing, and collaboration with project managers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Seek out work to bid to meet revenue expectations quarterly.
• Build and prepare HVAC systems for buildings / design builds.
• Prepare detailed HVAC estimates from drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for equipment, ductwork, piping, and labor.
• Analyze project requirements, scope, and risk to develop competitive bids.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and value engineering.
• Track bid submissions and maintain estimating databases and historical cost data.
• Review change orders and assist with pricing revisions as needed.
