Job summary

Zoom Air, Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder to support fabrication and equipment operations in our shop. The role involves welding, fitting, fabricating, repairing, and modifying metal components for HVAC rental equipment and related projects.

The ideal candidate reads drawings and measurements accurately, works safely in a fast-paced environment, and collaborates with Fabrication, Shop, Rental, and Field personnel to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding and metal fabrication preferred.
• Proficient with MIG and/or Stick welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and fabrication techniques.
• Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel preferred.
• Ability to use grinders, saws, torches, plasma cutters, drills, and other tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Dependable attendance and ability to meet production schedules.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and Stick welding for fabrication and repair.
• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials.
• Fabricate components from drawings, sketches, measurements.
• Measure, cut, fit, tack, and weld to specs.
• Operate saws, grinders, drills, plasma cutters, torches safely.
• Inspect welds and assemblies for quality and fit.
• Repair HVAC rental equipment, piping assemblies, skids, and frames.
• Assist with fabrication of custom piping and equipment.
• Maintain dimensions and alignment throughout fabrication.
• Maintain tools and shop areas; follow safety policies.
• Report unsafe conditions or shortages.
