Position Summary

The HVAC Install Helper is responsible for assisting with the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for residential and light commercial customers. This role supports lead installers in completing high-quality installations while maintaining safety standards and delivering a positive customer experience that aligns with the values of Yeti Heating and Cooling.

This position is designed as an entry-level role with hands-on training and growth opportunities into advanced installation and service positions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Installation Support

• Assist with installation of HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, and related equipment.
• Help set and position equipment, run ductwork, refrigerant lines, drain lines, and venting.
• Support basic electrical and mechanical connections under supervision.
• Carry and organize tools, materials, and equipment on job sites.
• Ensure installations are completed in accordance with company standards and manufacturer guidelines.

Job Site Preparation & Cleanup

• Prepare job sites for installation work, including protecting customer property.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the job.
• Perform thorough cleanup upon job completion.
• Keep company vehicles stocked, clean, and organized.

General Support

• Pick up and deliver materials and equipment from suppliers as needed.
• Follow direction from lead installers to ensure efficient job completion.
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment and materials daily.
• Support team members to maintain productivity and job quality.

Customer Service

• Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with customers.
• Represent the company positively while on job sites.
• Assist in creating a clean and professional installation experience for customers.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Maintain awareness of job site safety conditions at all times.
• Participate in training to improve safety and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous HVAC, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• EPA Section 608 certification not required to start but opportunity to obtain.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the HVAC trade.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Good communication skills and professionalism.
• Ability to handle physical, hands-on work in various environments.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work on ladders and in attics, basements, and outdoor conditions.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and job site conditions.
• Availability for overtime as needed.

Probationary Period
