Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3–4 years of job-related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • EPA Universal required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including lifting 50 lbs and climbing stairs/ladders.
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain HVAC control systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Inspect HVAC equipment for proper operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine corrective actions.
  • Apply general knowledge to complete tasks and solve routine problems.

About the Role

Join our facilities team as an HVAC Engineer, where you will play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure of a premier healthcare facility. You will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that support essential medical services. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment where your precision directly contributes to patient safety and operational excellence.

This is a stable, union-represented position offering a predictable schedule of Monday through Friday, day shifts. You will participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure continuous system performance, supported by a collaborative team of skilled tradespeople. We provide the stability of a structured union environment while prioritizing your professional development and the vital contribution you bring to our clients and the communities we serve.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment. This includes the calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.

  • Perform operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and equipment, including pumps, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and related mechanical systems, to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.

  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.

  • Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • EPA Universal required.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.

  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Collective Bargaining Agreement: The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the HVAC Engineer - Union position is $31.50 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
