Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a HVAC Engineer to join its facilities maintenance team, based across London and South East airport facilities, with our client Swissport. The role involves operation, maintenance and ongoing compliance of critical building systems at Heathrow and surrounding sites.

Reporting to the Technical Lead, you will schedule maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and uphold risk assessments and safety standards across multiple facilities ensuring uninterrupted services.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations is required.
  • Health and Safety training with knowledge of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Experience with electrical installation work, testing and inspection.
  • Experience with building PPM schedules.
  • Knowledge of CAFM PPM management via handheld PDA.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, repairs and operations of equipment.
  • Ensure third party contractors comply with safety procedures.
  • Review risk assessments and method statements for on-site work.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure the centre operates compliant at all times.

Hours of work

40 hours per week

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm + shared on-call rota

Work Location

Mobile based across a small number of facilities. (You will be mainly based at Heathrow airport, with travel to other London and South East airports.)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Technical Lead you will play a crucial role in the operation, maintenance and ongoing compliance of all systems of these first class, unique facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance tasks, repairs and operations of equipment and services in accordance with best practice
  • Ensure that all third party contractors that are requested to carry out work on site, do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by any company or site specific procedures
  • Ensure Risk Assessments/Method Statements are reviewed for work being carried out
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure the operation of the centre is compliant at all times.
Requirements
  • Good all round maintenance engineer with strong electrical knowledge
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations
  • Health and Safety Training including knowledge of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • GCSE (or ‘O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification.
  • Experience in the Electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules. Experienced in
  • Electrical Installation work, plus electrical testing and inspection.
  • A good understanding of Building Critical and Non-Critical Systems.
  • Knowledge in CAFM PPM Management System (Concept) via handheld PDA
Desirable
  • C&G Electrical Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition IEE Electrical Regulations.
  • BMS (Building Management System knowledge and understanding.
  • A good basic Mechanical understanding.
  • Understanding of COSHH and handling of substances.
