Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. in Oak Ridge, Tennessee seeks an HVAC Designer to join the DOE Y-12 National Security Complex project. The role is full-time and based in Oak Ridge; you will contribute to HVAC design and 3D modeling across multiple projects.

Candidates should have 2+ years HVAC/Fire Protection design, experience with Revit or Smart Plant, ability to coordinate documentation, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC or Fire Protection with 2+ years’ relevant HVAC or fire sprinkler design experience.
• U.S. citizenship due to federal nature of work and ability to obtain clearance if needed.
• 5+ years of progressive HVAC design and 3D modeling experience.
• Experience with Revit and Smart Plant is a plus.
• Experience with point clouds and 3D modeling software for multi‑discipline projects.
• Familiarity with Trane Trace or similar programs.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems and perform 3D modeling for multiple projects.
• Coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval.
• Prepare and maintain technical drawings and operating documents.
• Develop and maintain historical information.
• Present information clearly through oral and written communication and use automated workflow systems.
• Plan, self‑perform tasks, and multi‑task across projects.
